Welcome to the Archives at Spookamania.com!

Hello and welcome to the archives at Spookamania.com. In the past years, many authors have expressed a desire to post thier fanfiction here and, until now, that was a priviledge for the elite writers only. Now, it's as simple as creating your account and uploading your chapters. In addition to that, we have expanded to accept original writing and also ghost stories. We here at Spookamania hope you enjoy your reading and writing experiences with us and look forward to seeing you again!

Random Story
Champagne Days by SpookyMulder 12+
The terms of an inheritance lead poverty-stricken Camilla away from home and into a new life - one which must exclude her mother or she'll lose everything. But are the cousin she'd never met and the house of her ancestors what she thought they'd be? Or has she placed herself in grave danger?

SpookyMulder Updates 3 Stories

Just an FYI for all of my readers.

In addition to chapters 23 and 24 of "The Girl in the Tower 2" which recently went up, I have also added a new chapter (ch 6: Goodbye Cruel World) to "Disturbing the Dust" and have just updated "One Night in Cairo" with 3 new small chapters (ch.s 9, 10 & 11.) ((Cairo was originally to be posted in two parts, but I was able to offer more of the finished story by posting it segment by segment.))

Unfortunately, GiT2 is my main writing priority and the other stories are only updated when I need a break from GiT2. In between, I also write tutorial articles for the Writer's Resource on Spookamania, which take several hours each. This is when I'm not working on my website or building one for a client. Oh, and when I'm not at my full-time job or making dinner for my daughter. And you know what? Sometimes I'm completely slacking off. :0

I do want to say that my smaller stories get almost no reviews. I spend most of my free time writing them. I don;t think a few moments of your time is too much to ask. I just want to know what you thought.

All Stories Moved

With the addition of Logical Raven's story, all previously archived Harry Potter fan fiction stories have been moved from the html pages into the new area. The old archives are now closed and will be removed.

Dropped from the archive are Everett Scott's "The Slytherin Challenge" and "Sentence of Salazar." The stories were excluded at the author's request as he wrote them many years ago and didn't feel they were indicative of his growing talent. Although they have great titles, I'd have to agree. Check out his novel "Memoirs of Draco Malfoy" as well as his one-shots, one of which recently came in 3rd in the "Best One-shot on Spookamania" poll.

The Girl in the Tower 2 Move Complete

At long last, I am so very happy to announce that the editing is complete and "The Girl in the Tower 2: Home by the Sea" has been moved in its entirety to this archive. Why is that news? Because I can now resume the writing of ch 23! I already had a good deal of it done so it shouldn't be too long.

For constant progress updates and sometimes a few hints, see the forum under Tower 2 Stuff -> Part 3 -> Chapter 23

Thanks for your unending patience as I got everything situated. It was much appreciated.    ~Spooky

The Girl in the Tower Soundtrack

Just wanted to mention that I have finally moved The Girl in the Tower's soundtrack list from the old archive to this one. You can find it by selecting what appears to be chapter 37 of the story.

By adding the soundtrack list, the GiT1 move is complete! You may comment on the selections or make suggestions of your own my reviewing the listing as though it were a real chapter. You may also find the soundtrack thread in the forum under "Tower Stuff, Comments" and respond there as well.

Lavender Brown and Narcissa Malfoy Casted!!

CBBC Newsround has announced that Helen McCrory has been casted to play Draco's Mother Narcissa Malfoy. You might have remembered them casting her as Bellatrix Lestrange. However, due to her pregancy she was unable to play Bellatrix. She got a second chance. Also it was announcec today by CBBC newsround that Lavender Brown has been casted. Jessie Cave. She has only starred in one TV show in the UK titled Summerhill. It will be airing sometime next year.

Jessie is 20 years old. Your first chance to see Jessie on screen though will be in CBBC drama Summerhill going out early next year.

It's not known if Jessie attended the open auditions for Lavender.

They were were held earlier this year. Or she may have auditioned separately for the part
. Says CBBC

The Girl in the Tower

It is my sincere pleasure to announce that, as of 11/3/07 the revisions to "The Girl in the Tower," which took nearly a year to complete are... er... complete. The novel can now be found here in its entirety instead of some here, some there as it was slowly moved from the old html archive to this one. (It has received almost 12,000 hits in the past 6 weeks and only about 2 new reviews. WTF)

In addition, the chapters of "The Girl in the Tower 2: Home by the Sea" are receiving a light edit as they are moved to this archive. All of this immense workload, from revising GiT1 to editing GiT2, falls on my shoulders and so this has caused a delay in the release of ch 23 of GiT2.

I apologize to those who've been waiting patiently, but I want readers to be able to review the new chapter in this archive. As you probably saw, our forum was hacked and is still down, so reviews can't be left there or pasted in by me. Furthermore, the mailing list for chapter updates will be no more. Readers can now register here, add the story to their favs and receive update emails. The newsletter may still be sent, but not as a chapter update tool.

I look forward to posting ch 23 for you soon. Until then, please enjoy the improved version of "The Girl in the Tower," (now free of spelling, punctuation, grammatical and canon errors!) New scenes have been added to replace lousy ones. A few chapter titles have changed. Sirius is now dead. It's all good.

Skin Updates

As I play with the new skins, please give them all a second look now and again to see if your fav might change. I added a few changes to the Gryffindor skin - and then took them out. It's finished. It's simple and clean and I like it best as is. The Slytherin Skin received green backgrounds on the index text blocks. I really like the effect on this skin only and feel it sets it apart. If you have a different view, please comment. I'm no skin expert. The Beach skin, aimed at writers of original fiction who wouldn;t care for an HP theme, got a little closer to how it used to look. I added the block header graphic back in as many people claim this is their fav. The Edgey skin was meant as a test skin but people like that, too, so I will make a better graphic for it at some point. I never intended to keep that skin, but I think another non-HP skin was needed anyway.

If you have any suggestions or comments on these skins or have ideas for new ones, please comment!! Since the archive is new, we're starting from scratch. We have a few of the basics, but something unique would be nice. I plan to make a skin with clock graphics soon. Idk why, but I love clocks. Go figure, I'm always late lol.

Dumbledore's Gay!

2,000 lucky fans had the opportunity to interact with JK Rowling this evening at Carnegie Hall. The reading was rather eventful, as Jo revealed a lot of new information previously unknown about the series.

The most notable news of the night was the revelation of Dumbledore's sexuality. Jo says Dumbledore was gay and in love with Gellert Grindelwald. JK, in response to the audience's reaction, said "If I had known this would have made you so happy, I would have told you years ago."

Not quite as head-turning, but equally significant, Jo announced Neville Longbottom's marriage with Hannah Abbott. Hannah became the new landlady of the Leaky Cauldron.

Other heart-warming (ha!) news was revealed about Petunia Dursley. The night Harry left Privet Drive, Petunia wanted to tell Harry, "I know what you're up against and I hope it turns out okay."

Stay tuned, more to come soon!
